This week we learned that President Joe Biden lost his secretary of defense, who was secretly hospitalized after a secret operation to treat the cancer he didn't tell anyone about. Hey, it happens to the best of us. Alas, the alarming episode does not inspire confidence that the White House is telling us the truth about Biden's health.
In an effort to assuage public concern, the White House trotted out Biden's wife, first lady Dr. Jill Biden, Ed.D., who praised the 81-year-old president's "resilience" in an interview with MSNBC. Meanwhile, Biden bumbled his way through a number of public appearances as vigilant aides struggled to keep him from wandering off. During a speech in South Carolina, he claimed to have "started the civil rights movement." (He did not.)
