Perhaps the only thing that slowed President Donald Trump down in his historically successful first term was the question of what to do about the office of the attorney general. Jeff Sessions's recusal from the Russia witch hunt left the Trump administration shorthanded in its fight to get the truth out to the public. Americans sorely needed someone who could help them rest easy by debunking the fake news attacks on the president.

Well, good things come to those who wait.

Attorney General William Barr was confirmed less than a year ago, but he's already done more than anyone to provide the American people with the straight facts on all the corrupt—but futile—stratagems employed to topple President Trump. Collusion with Russia? Never happened. Evidence for surveilling the Trump campaign? Nonexistent. The legal reasoning propping up Obamacare? A bunch of malarkey.

Apologies, snowflakes, but facts don't care about your feelings.

Barr's brave truth telling has caused countless libs to lose their minds. Merely because he accurately summarized the Mueller investigation's findings (no collusion, no obstruction, total exoneration), Democrats threatened to lock him up. So fierce was their desperation that they invented a charge of perjury, a now-forgotten canard spread by Nancy Pelosi in a CYA move after the Dems' first impeachment push fizzled.

What's happened since? MSNBC has accused Barr of being behind the death of Democratic patron Jeffrey Epstein, former Obama hack Eric Holder has demanded he be sacked, and the New York Times declared him Trump's "henchman." These hysterical responses from within the liberal bubble have led prominent intellectuals to dub Barr "the new Dick Cheney"—a moniker which no doubt contributes to his wild popularity among the public.

Americans are now hoping Barr's winning streak continues into the new year. For leaving legions of libs triggered in his wake, we proudly name William Barr a Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year.
