The moderator of Wednesday's CNN town hall on gun violence is Chris Cuomo, a liberal primetime pundit who has advocated for gun control and chastised Republicans who disagree.
According to a release for "America Under Assault: The Gun Crisis," the topics discussed will be "gun violence in America; white nationalism and the rise in hate crimes; and whether or not the President and Congress will take any action to make America safer."

Cuomo, brother of New York governor Andrew Cuomo (D.), has openly pushed for more gun control laws. He ripped politicians who offer "thoughts and prayers" for victims of gun violence last year, offering a hyperbolic example of what could push politicians to action.
"What would it take? How about a stadium full of children of the most influential people in our society all holding puppies? What if they were all shot and killed? Would we act?" Cuomo asked. "The next time is coming. And more and more, you, me, our leaders, we're all becoming part of the problem. Think and pray on that."
He drew heat for a tweet sent earlier this year in response to a mother and rape survivor sharing a story about the importance of gun rights. Cuomo wrote, "Only in America," but he claimed after a backlasha he wasn't mocking or dismissing her position.

Like other anchors and pundits on CNN, Cuomo frequently showed a bias against gun rights in the aftermath of last year's massacre in Parkland, Florida.
Over a graphic reading, "What Are Republicans Afraid Of?" Cuomo blasted Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), and then-governor Rick Scott (R., Fla.). last February for appearing on Fox News but not his morning program New Day to discuss guns.
Cruz later fired back that no one "in the history of the universe" had been afraid of Cuomo.
The CNN host told former congressman David Jolly, an ex-Republican who supports gun control, that he was "on the right side of this argument" when he appeared on New Day that month.
He also asked former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum (R.), "Who is calling for a repeal of the Second Amendment?" the same week that former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens wrote an op-ed calling for that very thing.
Cuomo did not respond to the Free Beacon's request for comment.
