A third of a million Americans have died from COVID-19 on President Joe Biden's watch, another grim milestone for a commander in chief who pledged to "shut down the virus" and has seen his job approval rating plummet 10 percentage points since July.
According to the Washington Free Beacon's death tracker, COVID-19 has killed 335,937 Americans on Biden's watch as of Nov. 2. That is roughly equivalent to the total number of American combat deaths during the First and Second World Wars.
Biden is on pace to preside over more COVID-19 deaths than former president Donald Trump (about 408,000) by the end of the year. During the final presidential debate in October 2020, Biden suggested that more than 200,000 deaths from COVID-19 was enough to disqualify Trump from serving as president.
"Anyone who's responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America," Biden said. "We're in a situation where there are a thousand deaths a day."
Despite Biden's best efforts to "shut down" COVID-19, the virus continues to kill Americans at an average rate of about 1,200 per day. While the president's failed leadership is certainly a factor, reckless Democrats have been doing their part to spread the virus by rejecting science and refusing to wear masks in accordance with state guidelines.
