Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg predicted in an interview Tuesday that President Donald Trump will win reelection in 2020.
CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Bloomberg about the Democratic Party, its ideology, and Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign against Trump.
"They're being pulled to the left," Bloomberg said. "You saw Hillary being pulled to the left."
Bloomberg also said that he was not sure the Democratic Party had a national message. Bloomberg commented that Clinton did not have a good tagline for her campaign and that one of the many Democrats in the media could have helped her.
"I think recently you gave the chance that President Trump would be reelected 55 percent," Cooper said, referring to an interview from last month.
"Sure, because, well, the incumbent always has an advantage," Bloomberg said. "It depends what the world is like in three-and-a-half years."
Bloomberg said that if the economy is doing OK, that would help Trump. Additionally, Bloomberg said that many who voted against Trump believing he would be a bad president may now vote for him because he has had some time in office.
Bloomberg also said that the Democratic Party being torn between moderates and those further to the left will not help.
