In an ideal world, refusing to debase oneself in submission before a cabal of genocidal communists would not be considered a courageous act that deserves special recognition. Alas, we do not live in an ideal world. We live in a world where U.S. corporations, Hollywood producers, and professional athletes are groveling simps for Red China.

Steve Simon, CEO of the Women's Tennis Association, has balls like baked potatoes. In addition to promoting gender equity as the male chief executive of an exclusively female organization, Simon told the ChiComs to go f— themselves after they literally kidnapped a Chinese tennis star.

Simon announced early last month that the WTA would suspend all tournaments and other events in China and Hong Kong in response to the Chinese government's treatment of Peng Shuai, who disappeared in November after she publicly accused a high-ranking Chinese official of rape. Weeks later, Chinese state media published a ridiculous email allegedly written by Peng in which the tennis player recanted her accusations and insisted she had "just been resting at home and everything is fine."

In marked contrast to the sniveling cowards who run America's largest corporations, movie studios, and other athletic associations, Simon called bullshit and refused to back down. "None of this is acceptable, nor can it become acceptable," he said in a statement. "In good conscience, I don't see how I can ask our athletes to compete there when Peng Shuai is not allowed to communicate freely and has seemingly been pressured to contradict her allegation of sexual assault."

Simon's decision to stand up to China could cost the WTA more than $1 billion in estimated revenue. Most CEOs would take the money, publicly apologize, and release a pathetic statement about how "sports can be a unifying force that focuses on what we have in common as human beings rather than our differences," in the words of Adam Silver, commissioner of the National Basketball Association and groveling simp for China.

Don't be a simp like Adam Silver. Be a big-balled manly boss like Simon. For showing the world how easy it is to treat genocidal communists with the contempt they deserve, Steve Simon is a Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year.
