Marco Rubio Fields Questions While Catching Footballs Better Than an NFL Team

September 15, 2015

Ahead of what Republican presidential candidates might call the "big game," presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) released a quick video of a talent that many of us might not know: multi-tasking.

Rubio fielded questions while catching footballs. The questions ranged from the name of his fantasy football team—the Marco Polos—to tougher political questions such as which football team he thought was the most underrated.

"Probably Truman. I don’t think we give him enough credit for the difficult decisions he had to make at the end of the second World War," Rubio said.

Staying on the subject of things that are underrated, Rubio said that the most underrated football team was the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles lost to the Atlanta Falcons Monday evening after a controversial offseason shake-up from coach Chip Kelly.

When Rubio was asked which was harder to retrieve, Hillary Clinton’s emails or Tom Brady’s text messages from the heavily covered "deflate-gate," Rubio laughed and said Clinton’s emails seem to be the harder and that the information in the emails is more meaningful of the two.

Rubio said Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) would be the best senator that could also be a good football player. When the question was reversed, Rubio said Peyton Manning would be the best player who could also be a senator because he is a good communicator. Rubio had a backup in case Manning would be uninterested in public service: Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.

Rubio also joked about having water nearby before a big speech, a throwback to his rebuttal to President Obama’s State of the Union speech in 2013.

Rubio said he was more nervous before his first college football game than his first debate because he said no one would hit him during the debate.

CNN will host the second presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Wednesday evening where Rubio will be on the main stage.
