MSNBC's Tamron Hall cited a Saturday Night Live skit on Wednesday as proof that Hillary Clinton was not rattled by Donald Trump bringing her husband's accusers into the limelight during the second presidential debate.
"When we say that the Clinton campaign is 'rattled,' I go back to, even though it's parody, the SNL skit with Kate and the accusers of Bill Clinton and she looks over and goes, 'Hey, girl, hey, ladies,' or whatever the line was," Hall said.
The Saturday Night Live skit showed Hillary Clinton, played by Kate McKinnon, pretending to be affected by her husband's "mistresses" by pretending to cry. Clinton then told Donald Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, to "get real" and that bringing them up was "nothing." The Washington Free Beacon described the skit after it was aired.
"Listen, what I said is nothing compared to what Bill Clinton has done, OK? He has abused women, and Martha, Anderson, hold onto your nips and your nuts, because four of those women are here tonight," Trump says.
Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) then feigns emotional shock at the women being there, but she refers to them as her husband's mistresses, implying a consensual relationship.
"Wait, I'm sorry? Who's here? Mistresses?" Clinton says, fake crying. "Bill, how could you? How will I go on with the debate? No, I'll never be able to remember my facts and figures now. Oh, Donald, no!"
Clinton then returns to a straight face.
"Get real. I'm made of steel. This is nothing. Hi, girls!" Clinton says, waving.
Hall then drew another conclusion from the skit, saying that Trump is desperate.
"What proof is it that she's rattled?" she asked the panel. "There seems to be more proof that Donald Trump is desperate than Hillary Clinton, unable to face whomever in the audience."
