CNN political analyst Chris Cillizza hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit on Tuesday and it did not go well.
Reddit users asked Cillizza, the editor at large for CNN Politics, questions ranging from what his favorite book is to why he covers politics like it is a sporting event. Many of the questions that were asked appeared to be critical of Cillizza's coverage of politics. Cillizza was only able to answer a handful of questions before he ended the AMA.
One of the questioners asked why Cillizza devotes his time on reporting to analyzing "inane subjects" like the handshake last week between President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron. Cillizza defended his reporting and called the handshake part of an important element to politics.
Another user asked if Cillizza's approach to journalism has damaged public dialogue.
Fusion reporter Libby Watson asked Cillizza, "Why do so many journalists think you suck?" The question was later deleted, but Cillizza still answered it.
