This week on the Sunday news shows: CNN host Brian Stelter called out Joe Biden for not appearing on any Sunday shows this year, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin went on the offensive against Biden, and former secretary of state John Kerry said President Donald Trump is "correct" not to rush to war with Iran.

CNN Host: Biden Hasn’t Appeared On Sunday Shows In 2019

CNN host Brian Stelter hit Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for not doing any interviews on Sunday news shows this year.

"Biden has never sat down for a Sunday show interview all year long," the Reliable Sources host said. "I wonder if they are doing enough to combat Trump."

Stelter worried the Biden campaign wasn't doing enough to counter the narrative from Trump about stories surrounding Biden's son, Hunter Biden, and his foreign business dealings.

"The Biden campaign came out with a memo this weekend trying to diffuse this story," he added. "Here is a part of what the memo said at the end addressing the press. ‘Any article, segment, analysis, and commentary that does not demonstrably state at the outset that there is no factual basis for Trump's claims, and in fact that they are wholly discredited, is misleading readers and viewers.'"

The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal reported last week that an intelligence official was concerned about a call between Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. According to reports, Trump pressured Zelensky multiple times about cooperating with Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in investigating Hunter Biden's business dealings in Ukraine.

Mnuchin, Pompeo Go On the Offensive Against Biden

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin went on the offensive during the Sunday news shows against Joe Biden, who is in the middle of a brewing controversy with President Donald Trump.

Mnuchin addressed Biden's comment from over the weekend on CNN's State of the Union, where he claimed he never spoke with his son, Hunter Biden, about his overseas business dealings in the Ukraine. Mnuchin said those business dealings need to be addressed.

Pompeo appeared on ABC's This Week, where he said Biden needs to be investigated if evidence shows he improperly interfered in any investigation of his son's company.

"I do think if Vice President Biden behaved inappropriately, if he was protecting his son and intervened with the Ukrainian leadership in a way that was corrupt. I do think we need to get to the bottom of that," Pompeo said.

Kerry: Trump is 'Correct' Not to Rush to War With Iran

Former secretary of state John Kerry on Sunday agreed with President Donald Trump on Iran, saying he was "correct" not to rush to war with Iran.

Kerry, who helped negotiate the Iran nuclear deal, said Trump is absolutely "correct to be evaluating sort of not being rushed into a corner to go to war" with Iran during an interview on CBS's Face the Nation. He added, "That is what we shouldn't do."

He attempted to blame the Trump administration for tensions between the two countries, saying Tehran's more aggressive behavior is a result of Trump's "economic wars."

"It was entirely foreseeable that that would result in further conflict," Kerry said. "So we're seeing the unfolding of really a bankruptcy of approach."
