Liberal comedian Samantha Bee said Tuesday on CBS This Morning that she does not care whether the American people know the real Hillary Clinton.
Host Charlie Rose asked Bee whether the public knows the real Clinton or not.
"Pardon?" Bee asked.
Rose repeated the question, which prompted Bee to say that she does not know whether the public actually knows her.
"That’s a good question. I don’t know–I don’t know that we do," Bee said. "Do we need to? Do we really need to? Do we really need to feel like we can go out for drinks with people? Do we not just want them to do a very good job?"
"But we want to know something about their character, something about their intelligence, something about their temperament," Rose responded.
Bee dismissed Rose’s concerns, saying if voters don’t know Clinton by now, then they will never know the Democratic nominee.
"It’s been like a live colonoscopy on television," CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell said.
Bee agreed with O’Donnell.
Bee’s response comes as a majority of voters continue to view Clinton as dishonest and untrustworthy. An NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll from August found that only 11 percent of registered voters believe Clinton is "honest" and "trustworthy."
