MSNBC's Morning Joe hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, were quick to criticize the network for pulling them off the air on Monday following former president Donald Trump's attempted assassination. The hosts said they were told the network would stay in breaking news mode with one news feed across all NBC channels and were "very surprised and disappointed" when that did not happen.
MSNBC pulled the show, known for its close connection to President Joe Biden, on Sunday out of fear that an inappropriate comment on the Trump shooting "could be used to assail the program and network as a whole," a person familiar told CNN.
"Next time we're told there will be a news feed replacing us we will be in our chairs," Scarborough said. "And the news feed will be us or they can get somebody else to host this show."
