CNN contributor Bianna Golodryga on Friday criticized Democratic presidential candidates for not having a "coherent" health care plan, saying they were "all over the place."
The former CBS correspondent appeared on CNN's New Day panel to analyze Thursday night's debate, where she was critical of the 2020 Democrats for not providing specifics on health care.
"We seem to see a situation where these candidates are all over the place when it comes to health care and they need to decide whether it's fix the current system or blow it up," Golodryga said. "I haven't heard one coherent plan from any of these candidates about what it will take and there are millions, 150 million Americans that are currently on private insurance."
She noted how all the Democratic candidates said Thursday night during the debate their health care plans would cover undocumented immigrants.
"When you talk about Americans that are actually citizens of this country not getting a concrete answer about what happens to their insurance and whether they can afford health care, then you have a really big issue," Golodryga said.
Sens. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) both raised their hands during Thursday night's debate to support abolishing private health insurance plans through Medicare for All if they become president.
Shortly after the debate, Harris backtracked and said she misinterpreted the question, believing it referred to her own personal insurance plan. This wasn't the first time Harris has backtracked after saying she supported eliminating private insurance, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
Harris said in January that she was in favor of getting rid of private health care plans in favor of a true "Medicare for All" system, but she backtracked after receiving attacks for the position and said she was open to multiple paths toward coverage for everybody.
In May, she told CNN host Jake Tapper that her vision "doesn't get rid of supplemental insurance." A producer on Tapper's program tweeted out that Harris had apparently reversed herself yet again.
