Friday's Politico Playbook touts Hillary Clinton going "one-on-one" in a Sunday exclusive interview with former Clinton White House employee George Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos now serves as anchor of the Sunday program This Week on ABC, in addition to his lead role on Good Morning America.

Previously, however, Stephanopoulos was Communications Director and a senior strategic adviser under President Bill Clinton, and he also recounted in his memoir that he once told Hillary Clinton, "I love you."

The Washington Free Beacon reported last year that the host made a $75,000 contribution to the Clinton Foundation and failed to disclose it on television. He later acknowledged the donation, and he apologized to ABC viewers.

Right before the news broke, Stephanopoulos aggressively questioned Peter Schweizer, the author of Clinton Cash, accusing him of having a partisan interest in attacking the Clinton Foundation and making the case that Clinton took action on behalf of donors at the State Department.

In subsequent interviews with Hillary Clinton, Stephanopoulos also disclosed his donation at the outset, although he has not done so in more recent meetings.

Now, the two go "one-on-one" with the critical New York primary approaching on Tuesday. Clinton, who served the state in the U.S. Senate for eight years, leads challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) in the polls.

The two had a contentious debate Thursday night on CNN, battling over approaches of pragmatism versus idealism, and clashing over Wall Street, Israel, guns, the minimum wage and other issues.
