Seriously, you all need to calm down. This VA "scandal" will blow over soon enough, and we can all get back to talking about things that really matter, like climate change. Here's how it will happen. In the coming weeks, Democrats/liberals will offer the following blame-shifting explanations:
The scandal "predates" Obama (i.e., blame Bush)
VA backlog is another indictment of Bush's disastrous legacy. It was morally corrupt to start 2 wars with few resources for returning vets.

(Note: Obama has been the president since 2009.)
Republicans are "politicizing" the scandal
VOX DOT COM explains:
Republicans are "overreaching"
Somebody please remind congressional Republicans that the word is #oversight, not #overreach. pic.twitter.com/H11ZmzZ3zB

Republicans want to cut VA funding/hate veterans
The Phoenix VA hospital saw huge budget cuts in 2006 under Bush. Once Dems took congress in 2007, VA funding rose from $71B to current $152B

Start wars that produce lots of hard-to-assess brain injuries. Filibuster VA funding. Express outrage over backlogs. http://t.co/3ArUWWLwZH

Maybe the Koch brothers are to blame?
That what's Senator Bernie Sanders, a proud socialist from Vermont and chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs, has tried to argue, in rather incoherent fashion:
Veterans should stop whining
Some veterans are upset that their free government health care is substandard as compared to that which they couldn't afford otherwise

Of course, once enough time has passed and the media has grown bored of covering VA news, it will become jejune to even bring it up. They're looking into it. Dude, that was like two months ago.
