ANALYSIS: Jordan Spieth’s Historic Masters Win Is Bad for Hillary

Jordan Spieth didn’t just win the 2015 Masters at August National, he dominated it, becoming one of the youngest champions in history, and matching Tiger Woods’ record for lowest score. The 21-year-old Spieth stormed to victory despite the best efforts of seasoned veterans such as Phil Mickelson, 44, and Justin Rose, 34. According to a Free Beacon analysis, none of this bodes well for Hillary Clinton, who announced her second run for president just hours before Spieth donned the iconic green jacket.

NATO Summit Venue Perfect for Golfer-in-Chief

Site of 2010 Ryder Cup sure to intrigue Obama on trip to Wales

It is fitting that the first sitting U.S. president to visit golf-obsessed Wales would be the golf-obsessed Barack Obama, who is staying at the venue that held the 2010 Ryder Cup for the NATO Summit that began on Thursday.

Column: Obama’s endless second-term vacation

The headline was brutal. “Bam’s Golf War: Prez tees off as Foley’s parents grieve,” read the cover of Thursday’s New York Daily News. Obama’s gaffe was this: He had denounced the beheading of James Foley from a vacation spot in Martha’s Vineyard, then went to the golf course. Seems like he had a great time. Such a great time that he returned to the Farm Neck Golf Club—sorry, membership is full—the next day.

Joe Biden Joins Exclusive Country Club

Looking more presidential by the day

Hillary Clinton’s disastrous book tour/campaign rollout has been great news for Joe Biden, the presumptive frontrunner for the Democratic nomination in 2016. The News Journal reports that Biden is beefing up his presidential bona fides by joining the exclusive Wilmington Country Club in Delaware.

Highlights & Takeaways from THE POLITICO’s Profile of President Obama

Bored by the presidency, Obama yearns to become a full-time member of the global cultural elite

THE POLITICO has published an epic philosophical profile of President Obama, the story of a man whose desire to assume his natural place among the global cultural elite is constantly frustrated by the fact that he is merely President of the United States (and somewhat obligated to serve out the remainder of his second term). He is quite clearly suffering from the Oval Office equivalent of Senioritis. Read the whole thing, as it contains (probably) some of the most bizarre sentences ever written about a sitting president. On Obama's supreme confidence:

Misplaced Priorities

Report: Obama spends more time on vacation, golf than economy

Barack ObamaPresident Barack Obama has spent more time on vacations and golf outings during his presidency than he has spent in meetings on the economy, according to a report released Sunday.

Chinese Tiger Mauls Augusta

The biggest headline out of Augusta so far is Chinese wunderkind Guan Tianlang who, at 14, was not only was the youngest golfer ever to compete in the Masters, but also finished his round 1-over-73, finishing ahead of last year’s champ and hovercraft pilot Bubba Watson. Even more glaring than a score that bested Arnold Palmer’s and Jack Nicklaus’s first-ever rounds at Augusta is how Tianlang is yet another instrument of the public relations apparatus of the People’s Republic of China. I watched Mike Tirico’s interview with Tianlang above and was struck by two things:

Obama’s War On Women

President Obama believes it is “long past the time” for women to be admitted to the traditionally all-male Augusta National Golf Club, White House press secretary Jay Carney said Thursday. The president himself, however, has a well-documented history of excluding women, especially on the golf course.
