Donald Trump threatened to revoke press credentials from the New York Times after calling the newspaper dishonest at a rally in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday.
"But the problem we have–the biggest problem we have, I think, is the press," Trump told supporters.
Trump gave his usual talking points about the press being dishonest and cited how he took away press access from the Washington Post. He said that since he took that step, the Post has been better with publishing unfair stories about the Republican nominee.
Trump also told the audience how dishonest he believes the New York Times is being toward him.
"The New York Times is totally dishonest. Totally dishonest. The Washington Post has gotten a little bit better lately. I took away their press credentials–I should do it with the New York Times," Trump said
Trump has gotten into public disputes with the Times after the news organization published an unflattering article about Trump’s past history with women in May.
Trump responded forcefully on Twitter.
Everyone is laughing at the @nytimes for the lame hit piece they did on me and women.I gave them many names of women I helped-refused to use

The controversy grew when one of the main women portrayed, Rowanne Brewer Lane, slammed the New York Times over the story, saying that the paper took what she was saying out of context.
"Actually, it was very upsetting. I was not happy to read it at all," Brewer Lane said. "Well, because the New York Times told us several times that they would make sure that my story that I was telling came across. They promised several times that they would do it accurately. They told me several times and my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece and that my story would come across the way that I was telling it and honestly, and it absolutely was not."
