Spicer and April Ryan Have Brief Spat Over Who Gets a Turn to Ask Questions

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer and reporter April Ryan had a brief spat during an off-camera briefing on Tuesday, with Ryan at one point protesting she wasn't finished with her questions and Spicer snapping, "no, you are."

In light of the recent report about Trump sharing classified information with top Russian officials, Ryan asked questions about Trump's intelligence gathering; at one point, Spicer remarked that she had stepped out for a minute and didn't realize they had already covered that topic.

"I was coughing," Ryan said to explain her absence.

"I hope you feel better," Spicer replied. "The answer that I gave ... was that generally speaking, the president is presented with the end result of the intelligence. Here are the threats. Here are the issues that are facing us. Generally speaking, they don't go into the sources and methods."

"But has there ever been a concern that this president was not able to handle the intelligence information and they kind of crafted it ... [so] he would not get in trouble if it were to slip out?" Ryan asked.

"No," Spicer said, starting to move on to another reporter.

"Wait, I'm not finished," Ryan said.

"No, you are," Spicer said. "Everyone gets a turn."

Ryan insisted, however, getting in one more question about the Secret Service.

Spicer and Ryan have had several memorable exchanges in addition to this spat, including one where Spicer remarked she should stop shaking her head.
