MSNBC failed to disclose on Monday that their CIA analyst guest Edward "Ned" Price was a major donor to Hillary Clinton during the 2016 elections.
Price was an employee of the CIA and the top spokesman and senior director of President Barack Obama's National Security Council. He left the CIA in February and wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post stating that he was leaving the agency because of President Donald Trump. The Washington Free Beacon broke the story that Price had donated $5,000 to Clinton and the Democratic Party, forcing the Washinton Post to place a disclaimer above Price's article.
MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell did not mention his financial donations when introducing Price at the beginning of the interview or at the end. Mitchell did ask Price why he left the CIA, but did not mention his political leanings.
"Look, I was an analyst with the intelligence community and I had served there for about 11 years, including the past few in the White House," Price said. "This is an administration that did not seem to give any due deference or regard to unbiased, unvarnished intelligence assessments, and that's really the bread and butter of analysts with the Central Intelligence Agency or any other member of the intelligence community."
"I thought I could continue to hold my job as an analyst and accrue a healthy government paycheck at the expense of American taxpayers or I could find another way to serve the American people outside of government, and ultimately I decided to take the latter course," Price continued.
