Liberals on social media stopped pretending to care about Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) on Tuesday after he voted "yea" on a motion to begin debate on health care legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
McCain returned to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday after his office announced last week that the 80-year-old senator had been diagnosed with brain cancer. Minutes before he voted, liberals and a few journalists warned McCain on social media that if he voted in favor of moving forward with the GOP health care legislation, he would ruin his legacy.

There's a word for someone with cancer who votes against the lives of other fellow Americans with cancer. Don't betray us, Sen. McCain.

I don’t wish bad things for McCain. My prayer is that he survives to regret maybe try to redeem what I think he allowed to happen today.

Others shared their anger over McCain's vote.
Cancer-stricken John McCain is such a maverick, working to bring death to more people by voting to take away the healthcare of millions.

McCain lecturing on responsibilities of governance & adherence to protocols with scar on his forehead is the darkest fucking joke ever told.

If I were an insurance company, I wouldn't cover McCain's cancer treatment. If he hates health care so much, let him do without.
