Joe Scarborough, the host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, on Tuesday blasted NBC colleague Lester Holt for questioning President Joe Biden's heated remarks against former president Donald Trump.
Scarborough was appalled by Holt's decision to ask whether Biden regretted calling for Democrats to put Trump "in a bullseye."
"To ask that question absent of any context seems to me to be … phony moral relativism," Scarborough said. "It was just screaming throughout that part of the interview. And I must say I was shocked."
Biden made the "bullseye" remark days before a shooter at a Saturday campaign rally tried to assassinate Trump. The shooter murdered one person and wounded three others, including Trump, before being killed by the Secret Service.
Scarborough's criticism came one day after MSNBC pulled Morning Joe off the air for the day, fearing that someone on the show would say something "inappropriate" on the Trump shooting.
