President Joe Biden is under fire for hosting a barbecue with live music this weekend while Israel was under attack.
A press pool report sent out after 6 p.m. on Sunday said a reporter could hear a "live band" playing at the White House.
"In the late afternoon and early evening, a live band could be heard coming from the area near the Rose Garden," a pool reporter wrote in the email alert. "Your pooler asked why a band was playing. From the White House: The President and First Lady are hosting a BBQ for White House Executive Residence Staff and their families."
Republican senator Josh Hawley (Mo.) called out the event on X. "While Hamas holds Americans hostage, Joe Biden is enjoying a picnic with a live band," he said.
Hamas terrorists launched an assault on Israel on Saturday, leaving more than 700 Israelis dead. The terrorist group targeted civilians, with videos shared by members showing Hamas killing and abducting Israelis.
Americans were reportedly taken hostage by Hamas. At least nine Americans were killed in the attack, the United States confirmed.
