Horror is King, Stephen King's It, and a Sweater Ranking (New Substandard)

September 14, 2017

In the latest episode of the Substandard (tell your friends, leave a review!), we discuss Stephen King's It, which was a demon at the box office, slashing its way to more than $117 million over the weekend. Meanwhile, Annabelle: Creation is heading toward $100 million domestic gross. Horror flicks are relatively cheap and don't even require big-name stars in order to generate gobs of cash. Does this mean the studios are going to make more Insidious Paranormal ConjuRing movies?

With fall approaching, we discuss the art of layering. Is Steve Bannon right or insane to go double collar? JVL is all in—and then some. Sonny Bunch provides a sweater ranking. I profess my distaste for turtlenecks.

It's a bit much, to be honest. Crammed inside a studio with our very own Tim Gunn on one side and Marty McFly on the other. I mean, really.

The whole episode made me mad as hell. So stay for the outtakes where I do my best impression of Howard Beale.
