Hillary Clinton, a prominent grandmother and underachieving presidential candidate, is viewed more negatively than George W. Bush, the greatest living president of the United States, according to a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Here are the numbers with respect to voter attitudes toward public figures:

Hillary Clinton (-9)

  • Positive: 40 percent
  • Negative: 49 percent
  • Neutral: 11 percent

George W. Bush (-6)

  • Positive: 37 percent
  • Negative: 43 percent
  • Neutral: 19 percent
