Peters: Obama 'Physically Incapable' of Doing What Must Be Done

'I think he's terrified of taking action'

Former U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters had more strong words for the Obama administration Thursday, saying the president's insistence on building a coalition is merely an excuse to avoid taking action on the ISIL threat.

Speaking to Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum, Peters rejected the notion that Obama's low-profile strategy is meant to buy time to build a coalition.

Instead, Peters said, Obama is afraid to make a decision to define a clear U.S. strategy in Iraq and Syria.

"I think he's terrified of taking action, Peters said. "This man, who we elected twice, seems incapable of making difficult decisions as though it's some sort of deep psychological problem. But as far as coalition building goes, we need to get past the politics.

"He cannot be trusted, and I always tell people that if you, you know, there is one single thing that Putin and Obama have in common.  It's not their words that matter, it's what they do -- or in the president's case -- what he fails to do.

"We must take action against the Islamic State now.  The president seems almost physically incapable of doing what must be done," he said.

Obama's continued inaction and failure to define U.S. objectives with regard to ISIL comes as the terror group makes significant gains in Pakistan and Afghanistan and Vice President Joe Biden vows to follow ISIL 'to the gates of Hell'.
