Operation Troop Aid Sends Thousands Of Care Packages To U.S. Troops

December 13, 2013

While millions of Americans will spend Christmas at home with their loved ones, American troops will still be serving overseas, fighting to protect our liberty.

Thankfully, Operation Troop Aid is helping to provide the Christmas experience abroad for them.

Operation Troop Aid sends 20,000 care packages to our troops every year. Care packages include basic necessities, candy, and beef jerky.

Mark Woods, Founder and CEO of the charity, explained the Operation Troop Aid’s mission: "A lot of troops, they may not have family or their family, because of the economy, can’t afford to send bags. We’re just trying to stand in the gap for them."

Former Marine and country music star Jason Michael Caroll has lent his support for the Operation troop Aid. He performs and donates profits to the charity.

Caroll said that every donation and care package makes a difference. He told Fox and Friends’ Heather Childers "To us at home, it may not look like much, but to the men and women defending our freedom across the globe, it means the world."

Soldiers interviewed for the Fox and Friends segment expressed their gratitude for Operation Troop Aid. One soldier said "To receive something from our fellow Americans to show their support was a huge honor." Another soldier beamed with pride about America, saying "We live in the greatest country in the world- that flag still means something."
