Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.) changed the subject on Wednesday when CNN's Jake Tapper brought up how poorly progressives and Democrats treated Bill Clinton's accusers of sexual assault.
Tapper asked Klobuchar about Donald Trump's criticism of Clinton over his treatment of women, including during his presidency. Tapper then asked Klobuchar if progressives have a double standard in how they treated Clinton's accusers versus how they now treat those who accuse Trump of sexual assault.
"Do you look back at the '90s, and you were not a U.S. senator, okay, so I am not holding you responsible, but do you look back at that year and think, 'Boy, Democrats and progressives in the media really didn't behave the way, when it came to accusers of Bill Clinton, the way that we now deal with people who make accusations like this?'" Tapper asked.
"Well, what I most remember from that time, honestly, is when Bill Clinton was president we added a ton of jobs to the economy," Klobuchar said.
Tapper called her out for her not answering his question.
"That's a nice pivot, but come on, I'm trying to–," Tapper said.
Klobuchar continued with complimenting the former president on the economy and only one time broached the original topic.
"Whether how women were treated in the '90s versus now, I think the women of America listened to Donald Trump's own words," Klobuchar said. "He's the one on the ballot."
