The Democratic Party is not uniting behind Hillary Clinton, and is not about to very soon, according to MSNBC host Steve Kornacki.
Kornacki was asked about the state of the Democratic race by fellow host José Díaz-Balart and the threat posed to Clinton by her challenger, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) on Wednesday.
"If you look at the very bottom line question, the very big picture question of who's likely to be the Democratic Party nominee, it's still overwhelmingly likely to be Hillary Clinton. That's just what the math says. That's just what the reality of the delegate math says on the Democratic side," Kornacki said.
"At the same time, though, even in the face of that reality, this is not a party that is entirely ready to get behind her, to unite behind her, to put this primary behind them and to focus on Republicans, even with the reality of that math, she's still going to lose states."
On Tuesday, Kornacki was drawing a map on a screen while discussing New York, and drew what appeared to many to be...male anatomy. Díaz-Balart decided to poke a little fun Wednesday at Kornacki for his drawing.
"Steve, I was thinking of asking you to go to the map to show us the super delegates, but I think today, just today, no maps for Steve!" Díaz-Balart said.
"Keep me, yeah, a little bit of an incident there—I thought it looked like a goldfish, José. America, some people out there have a dirty mind, that's what I found out," Kornacki said.
"I haven't seen a goldfish like that in decades," Díaz-Balart said.
The Washington Free Beacon did not receive comment on what kind of goldfish Kornacki saw decades ago.
