A London woman has been beheaded by a man "on the loose with a machete," according to reports from BBC and the London Evening Standard.
The details of this attack echo the slaughter of British soldier Lee Rigby in the Woolwich neighborhood of London.
As with Rigby's killing, the police and the nation's gun bans were not able to prevent the beheading in the middle of the country's capital.
BBC reports:
A woman is thought to have been beheaded in the garden of a north London house. The victim was found at an address in Nightingale Road, Edmonton, at about 1 p.m. BST, police said.
In a statement, the Met Police said: "On arrival, officers discovered a female collapsed in a garden area."
The chaos unfolded in full view of witnesses, according to the Evening Standard. Witnesses reported seeing a man running in the area armed with a machete, police chasing after them. One tweeted, "Madman on the loose with a machete in Edmonton."
First reports give no indication the attack was motivated by terrorism, but it has not yet been confirmed by the police.
Whatever the motivation, it's clear London has a beheading problem and their near-complete ban on civilian gun ownership nor their firearm-free police force are not helping.
