Donald Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination and the likely victor in the New York primary, referred to the 2001 terror attacks that struck Manhattan’s World Trade Center as "7/11."

Trump mistakenly referred to the 9/11 terror attacks during a speech in Buffalo, New York, Monday night, one day before the Empire State’s primary. The gaffe was caught on video.

"I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart," Trump told the crowd. "Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action."

Trump, who has made his advocacy following the terror attacks that hit the iconic twin towers and the Pentagon a focal point of his campaign, did not correct himself during the speech.

Trump is expected to win Tuesday’s primary in his home state of New York by a wide margin. According to an average of polls provided by Real Clear Politics, the business mogul leads his competitors by about 30 points.
