Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R.) criticized Hillary Clinton for her laugh on Thursday, calling it a cackle while noting her house is not the one to trick-or-treat at because she will throw candy at you.
Huckabee discussed with Fox News host Martha MacCallum a Washington Times article written by Monica Crowley published Wednesday night that highlights how Clinton will be preparing for the second presidential debate.
"Hillary’s debate prep team has instructed her to keep an air of superiority while trying to provoke him," MacCallum said, reading from Crowley’s piece. "It says, ‘We tell her never answer the moderator’s question except in the most general terms, like repeating it. Attack the opponent and repeat your slogan ‘stronger together.’"
"They also instructed her, according to Monica’s piece, to laugh and smile a lot because people see her as angry," MacCallum added before asking Huckabee’s thought about Clinton’s debate prep.
"The problem with Hillary trying to laugh and smile a lot, that is great advice ordinarily, but Hillary is not natural at that and when she laughs it comes across as a cackle," Huckabee said. "When she gets upset, which is most of the time, her voice goes up almost an octave and she begins to scream."
He compared Clinton’s laugh to trick-or-treating during Halloween, a fun children’s holiday filled with excitement and large amounts of candy.
"She is like the person you never go trick-or-treating at her house because you are afraid she is going to open the door and throw the candy at you rather than gently put it in your basket," Huckabee quipped.
The second presidential debate will be held on Sunday at Washington University in St. Louis.
