David Brock slammed Democrats for panicking over Hillary Clinton’s mounting email scandal, and cautioned them not to "lose their nerve and chicken out" when it comes to supporting her nomination.

Brock, a former anti-Clinton writer who now runs a pro-Clinton Super PAC, defended the Democratic candidate in an open letter published by the Huffington Post on Tuesday.

"I'm still constantly surprised that, every time Republicans manufacture a fake scandal and convince the mainstream media to swallow the bait, Democrats immediately fret—often publicly, to conservatives' delight—that the sky is falling," wrote Brock.

"But there's nothing to worry about—unless we let the conservative smear machine and its enablers tell us what to think about Hillary Clinton's email ‘scandal,’" the top Clinton supporter added.

The FBI is currently investigating whether classified information was sent over Clinton’s private email server. The Inspector General for the Intelligence Community has said several of the email messages contained classified information, including at the top-secret level.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, and the House Select Committee on Benghazi are also looking into Clinton’s use of a private server while at the State Department.

Fifty-nine percent of likely U.S. voters, including 39 percent of likely Democratic voters think it is likely Clinton broke the law by using the private server, a Rasmussen poll found on Tuesday.

According to Brock, the "facts are on her side."

"What if I told you we had a chance to elect a transformative progressive president," mused Brock. "Someone with an inspiring personal story, a long record of accomplishment on behalf of the most vulnerable, a keen understanding of how to effect real change in a broken political system, and an ambitious agenda for bolstering the middle class?"

"And what if I told you we were at risk of blowing that opportunity because we couldn't stifle our own propensity to panic?"

He added that, "Republicans know they can't beat Hillary fair and square. All they can do is hope to confuse and exhaust enough Democrats who lose their nerve and chicken out when it comes to refuting false attacks on her."

Brock has previously said Hillary Clinton suffers from "dangerous character flaws" and that she and her husband enjoy "screwing over the ‘little people.’"
