A stadium in Hannover, Germany, hosting a friendly soccer match between Germany and the Netherlands Tuesday was evacuated and the game was cancelled because of security concerns.

The Associated Press reported the evacuation. The soccer match between the two teams was set to take place Tuesday evening but was called off at the last minute. According to BBC, president of Hannover police Volker Kluwe cited a "concrete security threat" and said "there were plans for some kind of explosion."

About two hours after the evacuation took place, a German regional minister said that no explosives had yet been found at the stadium and no arrests made. Lower Saxony interior minister Boris Pistorius also could not confirm a report from a German newspaper that authorities had discovered an ambulance full of explosives outside the stadium.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was scheduled to attend the event. Police evacuated both the stadium and the surrounding area less than two hours before the start of the game Tuesday.

Kluwe told German television that authorities had received another bomb threat approximately an hour before that "turned out to be harmless," CBS News reported. However, police received another tip "that had to be taken seriously that an attack was being planned," Kluwe stated. Authorities also cancelled a concert scheduled at the Hannover Pavillion.

The events come just days after multiple terror attacks in Paris, including suicide bombings near France’s national stadium, killed at least 129 people and wounded more than 350 others.

Multiple explosions occurred outside the Stade de France Friday while a friendly soccer game between France and Germany was taking place inside. One of the suicide bombers in the Paris attacks was blocked from entering the stadium.

The Islamic State (also known as ISIL or ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the deadly terror attacks in France.
