A U.S. Navy fighter jet was forced to take evasive action after an Iranian drone came far too close to the plane on Tuesday.

The F/A-18 was attempting to land aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) when the drone came within 100 feet below and 200 feet to the side of the jet, CNN reports. The drone prompted the plane to repeatedly make evasive maneuvers to avoid the drone.

The jet was still several thousand feet above the Nimitz.

The drone eventually moved away from the scene in the Persian Gulf after the Navy made several emergency radio messages warning the operators to move it. The Navy did not believe that the drone was armed.
