Donald Trump Jr. joined his father in piling on Steve Bannon on Wednesday, tweeting a sarcastic thanks to him as Democrat Doug Jones was sworn in as Alabama's new senator and also calling him a liar.
He wrote Andrew Breitbart would be "ashamed of the division and lies Steve Bannon is spreading." Bannon rejoined Breitbart News after leaving the White House.

"Thanks Steve. Keep up the great work," Trump Jr. also wrote, quoting a tweet about Alabama now having one Democrat (Jones) and one former Democrat (Richard Shelby) as its Senate contingent.
Trump Jr.'s statement followed up an explosive one from the White House, where Trump blasted Bannon, his former strategist and campaign chairman, as a shameless self-promoter who "lost his mind" when he was fired from the White House.

Bannon has been criticized for his bolstering of Roy Moore, the controversial Republican who was dogged by sexual misconduct allegations and lost last month's special election race to Jones.
The defeat was particularly humiliating given that Trump carried Alabama by more than 25 points a year earlier and no Democrat had won a Senate election there since 1992.
The Trump family's fury against Bannon appears to stem from Bannon savaging them in a new book out by Michael Wolff. Bannon is quoted as saying the president's son committed a "treasonous" act with his meeting with Russian officials in 2016 at Trump Tower, warned the Russia investigation would target Trump over money laundering and predicted investigators were "going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV."
Trump Jr. also said that Anthony Scaramucci, the famously short-lived communications director, "nailed it" with his colorful description of Bannon in an interview with tie New Yorker last summer.
"I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock," Scaramucci said. "I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country."
Minus the foul language The Mooch pretty much nailed it. https://t.co/lVLP3p4XPT
