Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D., N.D.) told the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce on Friday that the movement in Congress to "resist" President Donald Trump is a waste of her time.
Heitkamp was meeting with the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce to discuss her federal regulation bill that was passed by the Senate committee last week, NTK Network reported. She tweeted on Friday that in the meeting, she "talked about [her] bipartisan, commonsense bill to make fed. regs smarter & more effective."

But the Democratic senator also laid out a problem that she believed has been challenging the Democratic party in Congress: the "resist" movement.
"The resist movement, which is, you know, nothing. You just resist—you don't do anything, you just resist," Heitkamp said.
Heitkamp said the resist movement is ineffective and that she does not subscribe to their mission.
"I think that's a waste of my time," she said. "Why would I be there if that's all I'm there to do, say no."
