CNN’s Jake Tapper railed against billionaire and Harry Reid’s lapdog, Tom Steyer, for his hypocritical stance on energy.
The Democratic party is heavily funded by Steyer, who has pledged to spend $100 million — $50 million from his personal fortune and $50 million from other donors — to make climate change a top-tier issue in the upcoming election cycle.
Tapper aired a series of interviews and clips about the billionaire on The Lead Thursday afternoon and criticized Steyer for publicly denouncing fossil fuels, but continuing to profit from them and fill Democrats’ coffers with such money.
It should be noted a benefactor of Steyer's money is Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D., Nev.). Speaking before the Senate Thursday, Reid tried to claim that the Democratic party "doesn’t have many billionaires."
