CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin said President Donald Trump should listen to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D., N.Y.) apocalyptic warning about climate change.
"Instead of focusing on what women tell you, let's talk about when they speak why you should listen," Baldwin said. "When women tell you that they make 80 cents on a dollar compared to a man, when women tell you we only have 12 years left to avoid a climate disaster."
The "12 years" is a reference to a claim Ocasio-Cortez made earlier this year that "the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change." Ocasio-Cortez's claims were described as misleading.
Baldwin criticized comments made by Trump about issues with dishwashers. Trump said many women have told him that dishwashers today are inefficient. "President Trump made a comment that belongs in an entirely different era," she said before telling the president to listen to women about the issues like climate change and the gender wage gap, a topic that is contested by scholars.
"When your wife tells you and the country, 'be best' instead of degrading women, Mr. President, please listen," Baldwin said.
Baldwin has a history of praising Democratic politicians, especially House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.).
