"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski could not resist sneaking in a political shot at President Donald Trump on Monday during a teaser for upcoming coverage of the devastating flooding in Houston, Texas.

"Coming up, we'll assess the president's response to the first big domestic crisis that he actually did not create himself," she said shortly before the 7 A.M. ET hour.

Earlier in the program, Brzezinski noted that by most accounts Trump had been "on top" of the federal response to the disastrous storm, although she wryly added he had sent some "off-topic" tweets a day earlier.

In addition to tweeting statements about the storm, Trump addressed the southern border wall, NAFTA, and an upcoming trip to Missouri to discuss tax reform.

The Houston area is dealing with catastrophic flooding over the weekend from Tropical Storm Harvey, which rammed into Texas as a category-3 hurricane last week. The storm is expected to continue to douse the area with rainfall for several days, meaning the worst is likely not over.
