Rep. Ken Buck (R., Colo.), a vocal critic of his party's impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, is mulling leaving Congress to join CNN.

"I am interested in talking to folks at CNN and other news organizations—on the, I don’t want to call them left, but sort of center-left—and having an opportunity to do that full-time or do that as a contributor would be great also," Buck told the New York Post.

A source told the Post that Buck said privately last month that he was interested in a job at CNN and was also considering a job with a law firm in Washington, D.C., or a role at the Federal Trade Commission. The latter position would require approval from President Joe Biden.

Buck told the outlet later that he was also looking at Fox News or Newsmax for a job.

"I didn’t want to give you the impression that I’ve only talked to folks at CNN, on the left. I’ve also talked to others about this," Buck said.

Buck said in a Washington Post op-ed last week that Republicans looking to impeach Biden for alleged involvement in his son's foreign business dealings are "relying on an imagined history."

"Trump’s impeachment in 2019 was a disgrace to the Constitution and a disservice to Americans. The GOP’s reprise in 2023 is no better," Buck wrote.

One source familiar with Buck's thinking condemned him for taking time to seek out TV contracts.

"His constituents elected him to do a job right now—not go find a TV contract, not try to audition for his next job," the source told the Post. "People can debate whether or not he’s changed his tune [about politics], but I think a lot of people would say he probably has."
