Schumer: People Who Don’t Like Hillary Clinton Are ‘Uninformed’

September 7, 2016

Comedian Amy Schumer said Tuesday that people who oppose Hillary Clinton are "uninformed" and no one she has ever met who criticized the Democrat had anything "meaningful to say."

In the clip flagged by NewsBusters, Schumer, who has become increasingly vocal about her liberal positions like supporting Clinton and promoting gun control, responded to a loaded question from a BBC presenter about opponents of Clinton having "visceral hatred on their faces."

"Those people aren’t informed, you know? If you go, ‘Why don’t you like Hillary,’ they’ll go, ‘She lied about her emails! What else is she going to lie about?’" Schumer said. "People get one fact, and that’s what they latch onto about a candidate."

Schumer ripped Republican candidate Donald Trump for not releasing his taxes and running a "fake college" like Trump University.

"I haven’t had a conversation with anyone who doesn’t like Hillary where they’ve had anything meaningful to say," she said.

Clinton’s unfavorables hit a record high in a new CBS poll in August, with 56 percent of respondents saying they had an unfavorable opinion of her.

Schumer threatened to move to "Spain or somewhere" should Trump defeat Clinton in November.

"It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won," she said. "It’s too crazy."

Despite being a liberal in Hollywood, Schumer claimed last month that her outspokenness on certain issues has probably hurt her career.
