Greatest Living American Shows Off His Gun Collection

Richard Overton, Greatest Living American and Free Beacon 2014 Man of the Year, turned 109 yesterday and showed off his gun collection.

Overton is the oldest living World War II veteran who still enjoys a glass of whiskey and a cigar on a daily basis. He has been honored by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and President Barack Obama.

He told Guns.com that his favorite gun is a police revolver. He even keeps it by his bedside at night.

"I lay one of those things right there by my bed when I go to sleep," Overton told Guns.com. "That's my friend."

He said all he wants for his birthday is "another good happy day."

"If I can get that good happy day, I'll enjoy that," Overton told Guns.com. "If they give me that, I'll be happy on that."
