WATCH: Kamala Harris Comes From the Middle Class. What More Do You Want To Know?

October 14, 2024

Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to finish out her 2024 campaign exactly how she started—by repeating generic talking points about her "middle-class" background in response to questions about what she actually plans to do if she's elected.

Harris comes from the middle class. She was raised as a middle-class kid. She grew up in a middle-class family. She has repeated this line ad nauseam using a variety of accents. Occasionally she identifies as a working-class kid who grew up in "a beautiful working-class neighborhood" full of people who took pride in their lawns. Either way, she understands where she comes from and she's never going to forget it.

What about her plans for helping middle-class voters? (Never mind what she actually believes.) Why would you even ask that question? Harris has been very clear. She would fix the problem by implementing her plan. It's called an "opportunity economy." What does that mean? Doesn't matter. Just remember that she's not Donald Trump. She is also not Joe Biden, but can't think of a single thing she would do differently as president.
