Joe Biden, 79, had another eventful week as nominal president of the United States. On Tuesday, for example, the year-over-year inflation report for August came in higher than expected at 8.3 percent, and the stock market suffered its worst day since June 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That didn't stop Biden and his fellow Democrats from throwing a party to celebrate the so-called Inflation Reduction Act by listening to James Taylor play "Fire and Rain," a song about drug addiction, depression, and suicide. "Imagine being a mom or a dad looking through your child," he shouted at the crowd gathered on the White House lawn. "You know the needs of inciden [sic] very to live to live."
Additionally, the commander in chief warned a crowd of cancer patients not to jump off a balcony and praised "the Defense Department that has the ability to calculate an Energy Department to a million billion calculations per second," whatever that means.
Have a great weekend!
