Most pundits agreed that former vice president Joe Biden flopped in last week's Democratic primary debate in Miami, while Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) turned in an impressive performance. Post-debate polling appears to confirm the conventional wisdom, with Biden and Harris suffering/enjoying the biggest momentum swings in their respective, opposite directions.
Post-Debate Politico/Morning Consult poll shows support for Kamala Harris doubling since the last Politico/Morning Consult poll from 6% to 12%
Biden 33% (-5)
Sanders 19% (unchanged)
Harris 12% (+6)
Warren 12% (-1)
Buttigieg 6% (-1)
O'Rourke 2% (-2)— Eddie Zipperer (@EddieZipperer) July 1, 2019
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) and South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg were also thought to have performed well in the debate. However, both candidates lost a point, according to the poll. Failed Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke continues to flounder, as he now finds himself tied for seventh place with Andrew Yang at 2 percent after his debate performance was resoundingly panned.

Since the debate, Harris has found herself under attack from a number of Biden surrogates, including Carol Moseley Braun of Illinois, the first African-American female to serve in the U.S. Senate. She has attempted to brunt Harris's attacks on Biden over using forced busing to address segregation in the 1970s. Moseley Braun, who has endorsed Biden for president, said Harris's "ambition got it wrong about Joe."
"He is about the best there is," Moseley Braun said of Biden. "For [Harris] to take that tack is sad."
