Bud Light Gives Away Beer as Sales See Steepest Decline Yet

June 28, 2023

Bud Light is essentially giving out free beer this Fourth of July weekend in an attempt to boost its plummeting sales amid a nationwide boycott.

Parent company Anheuser-Busch is giving customers a $15 rebate for purchases of a 15-pack of Budweiser, Bud Light, Budweiser Select, or Budweiser Select 55, which means free beer in areas where 15-packs cost less than $15. The company's sales have continued to spiral since its failed ad campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney sparked a boycott. Sales dropped 28.5 percent for the week ending June 17, the largest drop yet, according to Bump Williams Consulting and NielsenIQ.

Bud Light was the first of many companies this year to face conservative backlash for its woke marketing. Target has lost nearly $15 billion in market value since it released its "Pride" collection featuring gender-neutral children's bathing suits and clothing designed by a pro-LGBT Satanist.

Despite conservative backlash, Bud Light sponsored a Toronto Pride parade last weekend, which featured naked men parading in front of children and drag queen performances on a Bud Light-sponsored stage, the Post Millennial reported.

Bud Light's rebate is valid for purchases up to $15 through July 8, according to the terms of service. The company ran a similar deal over Memorial Day weekend. The offer is not valid in 10 states including Texas, Alabama, and West Virginia.
