White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders fought back, in the form of pie baking, against White House correspondent April Ryan's accusations that Sanders did not actually bake a pie she posted on Twitter over Thanksgiving.
After the press secretary posted a picture on Thanksgiving day of a chocolate pecan pie she said she baked, the CNN political contributor and American Urban Radio Network White House correspondent insinuated Sanders posted a "fake pie." She responded on Twitter, demanding Sanders provide a photo of people eating the pie around the table.
Show it to us on a table. https://t.co/ifeSBlSZW7

I am not trying to be funny but folks are already saying #piegate and #fakepie Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it. I am getting the biggest laugh out of this. I am thankful for this laugh on Black Friday! https://t.co/ifeSBlSZW7

Sanders appeared to bring an end to the "pie gate" scandal on Wednesday with a series of tweets showing her baking multiple pies for the White House press potluck.

Sanders even gave a shout out to the Vice President's chief of staff, Nick Ayers, for supplying the pecans.

Sanders went even further to debunk Ryan's claim of "fake" pie by sharing pictures of the pie making process, and showing an oven shot of the pies baking.

Ryan responded on Wednesday night to say she "can't wait" to see the "pretty" pies.
