In a hidden camera video, liberal CNN commentator Van Jones told a conservative activist he believes "the Russia thing is just a nothing burger."
In the video released by Project Veritas, an undercover conservative activist approaches Jones, who appears to recognize him from a previous meeting. "What do you think is going to happen this week with the whole Russia thing?" the activist asked Jones.
Jones shrugged. "The Russia thing is just a big nothing burger," he said.
"Really?" the activist asked.
"Yeah,"Jones said.
Jones started to say, "There's nothing more that you can do–" before being cut off when another man approached.
Jones has, at times, publicly pushed the narrative that the investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government is worth pursuing.

However, at other times, the former Obama advisor has opined that Democrats should stop stressing the Russia story. "I don't want to hear about the Russians right now," he said on Late Night with Seth Meyers in January, responding to fellow Democrats who blamed Russian hacking for Hillary Clinton's loss.
Jones' employer appears unfazed by the new video, which comes the day after Project Veritas released another video. That video shows CNN producer John Bonifield also dismissing the Russia story.
"Lol," CNN responded in a one-word statement to Daily Beast.
