Jesse Watters of Fox News asked New York city immigrants, some legal and some illegal, from various countries about deportation and how they felt about President Trump. He received mixed answers.
"What do you think America should do about illegal immigration?" Watters asked one woman.
"We should give an opportunity to everyone," the woman replied in Spanish.
"Even if you break the law?" Watters asked.
"No," she answered.
Watters asked another man, "If you are illegal and commit a crime, should you stay?"
"No, no, no, no," the man answered.
"They have to go back?" Watters asked.
"Yeah. I think everybody's coming for work," the man said.
When Watters asked the immigrants about Trump, most of their responses were negative. They said that they weren't afraid of him, but they were afraid of deportation.
After asking about Trump, Watters asked about New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. The responses were mostly favorable. De Blasio has said that he will only cooperate with federal officials in deporting illegal immigrants who have violated certain crimes, not including drunk driving.
