CNN reporter Diana Magnay praised a sign that read "White Lies Matter" during a London protest against U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday.
Magnay was reporting at the site of the protest on Downing Street, where British Prime Minister Theresa May works and lives. May recently visited Trump in Washington, D.C. and has invited Trump to the U.K. later this year.
Magnay showed a couple of the signs left against a fence for May by protesters. Two of the signs she pointed out read "Theresa The Appeaser" and "Trump: Making America Hate Again." Then, Magnay pointed to one more sign along the fence.
"One of my favorites today is 'White Lies Matter,' obviously a reference to Donald Trump and Kellyanne Conway's 'alternative facts,'" Magnay said.
The Washington Examiner noticed Magnay's comment and awarded it the title of this week's "Mainstream Media Scream."
Magnay said the protests in London had been larger earlier in the day with thousands of people, while the protests in Paris did not have many participants.
Magnay noted that more protesters came out in London because of "the fact that Theresa May has already gone and cozied up to Donald Trump in the eyes of demonstrators here, and a desire really to make clear to the British prime minister her idea of a hard Brexit, where immigration takes priority over the economy, is also distasteful to the people out today."
